Our Story

Peggy has been selling her take and bake cheese wafers and dips for over twelve years. After leaving the corporate world to stay home with her daughter, she decided to take her love of entertaining and create a catering company. With so many requests for her appetizers she started narrowing her focus to gourmet take-and-bake appetizers. After much encouragement from friends and family she looked into going wholesale and focused on Whole Foods Market because of their support of local vendors. After calling on a number of Whole Foods she found a wonderful sponsor who loved her product and helped her get over the many hurdles of growing a gourmet food company.

No Minor Hurdles

​First, was to find a Department of Agriculture approved kitchen to produce her product. It was also suggested that she change the name of her company, completely redesign product packaging and come back to her sponsor after completing these and other changes. Over a year later, Peggy presented them with a product and packaging that they loved, and Cheese Louise became a Whole Foods Local Vendor. After getting her first purchase order at one Whole Foods location she went store by store and grew her business. She is now celebrating her fifth year and has her gourmet products in 10 Whole Foods stores. She has also expanded her business to include other retailers and specialty food/gourmet shops.

Peggy feels so blessed to have such a strong following of loyal customers who help her sell these delicious products by sharing Cheese Louise with others.
